About Chicago Quarter Fund
The premise of Chicago Quarter Fund is simple: get together, hangout, and donate to a good cause.
Choose Charitable Focus
Each quarter, our membership picks a new charitable focus to explore (think environmental justice or children’s education or animal welfare).
Collect Video Applications
We reach out to local non-profits within that quarter’s focus to submit video applications.
Watch Video Applications
Our members watch the video applications, and learn about that quarter’s non-profits.
Events
Everyone meets up at a local brewery to hangout, enjoy some drinks, and vote on the applicants.
Donate
We vote on that quarter’s applicants. First Place gets 60% of that quarter’s money, and Second and Third place each get 20%.
Our mission is to give back, and have fun doing it!
Once a business quarter, our community meets up at a local brewery to connect, socialize, and vote on where that quarter’s funds are being donated.
Each quarter has a different charitable focus, meaning we are able to help support a wide variety of social causes!
We are also able to help support local breweries by hosting our event at their spaces, and enjoying their drinks. Giving back, and having fun doing it!
Membership & Donations
All the money we donate comes from Membership and Donations. There’s no minimum or maximum donation; we’re grateful for anything you are able to give. Explore our donation options, and join our community.

Learn more about Chicago Quarter Fund
-
The original Quarter Fund was founded in Boulder, CO in April 2014. The Boulder Quarter Fund started with 13 twenty-somethings. High school friends Greg Alperstein and Richie Moon wanted a fun, social way to give back to their community, and were introduced to the Boulder Quarter Fund. They decided to start their own chapter in Chicago, and built it into the amazing community it is today.
-
The Chicago Quarter Fund (CQF) is a fund administered and sponsored by the Longmont Community Foundation (LCF), which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The LCF is also the sponsor of the original Quarter Fund chapter in Boulder. We work closely with the LCF to source great local non-profits and ensure compliance with granting best-practices.
-
If you are a business or generous community member who believes in our mission, then consider making a donation to CQF. A contribution from you would not only represent an amazing gesture to support local giving on behalf of the next generation of leaders, but it would also provide the momentum necessary to procure additional donations. Every donation brings us one step closer to funding our next quarter's grant and symbolizes a long-term investment in the philanthropic education of Chicago's millennial generation. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us or simply follow the link to the Longmont Community Foundation. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
All donations to the fund are tax deductible. Our sponsor, the Longmont Community Foundation, will provide all necessary paperwork to show proof of your donation.
